At Dorval Estate, our flagship wine is Cabernet Sauvignon.  crafted from a carefully selected collection of world-renowned clones grown at our estate and Sierra Foothill sites.

 

each contributing unique character, structure, and complexity. Grown organically in the high elevation granite foothills of Madera County, our vineyards benefit from exceptional drainage, warm days, and cool evenings—conditions that allow each clone to express its distinctive personality.

Rather than relying on a single clone, we embrace the art of blending, creating wines that showcase depth, balance, and a true sense of place. Our Cabernet Sauvignon program includes a diverse collection of heritage and modern selections:

• Clone 337 (Bordeaux, France) – Known for its intense dark fruit, concentrated tannins, and exceptional aging potential.

• Clone 169 (Bordeaux, France) – Prized for elegance, aromatic complexity, and refined structure.

• Clone 4 (UC Davis Heritage Selection) – A classic California Cabernet clone offering richness, balance, and consistent quality.

• Clone 30 (Disney Silverado Selection, Napa Valley) – Celebrated for its expressive fruit, depth, and luxurious texture.

• Clone 7 (UC Davis Heritage Selection) – Contributes powerful Cabernet character with notes of blackberry, cassis, and firm tannins.
