Every vine, every olive tree, and every sunrise over Dorval Estate begins with inspiration — a deep belief in living authentically, sustainably, and in harmony with the land.

For Andrew and Rebecca Kerr, this journey started not as a business venture, but as a dream: to raise their young family in a place where nature, hard work, and happiness could coexist. What began as a small food garden and vineyard soon grew into a thriving 40-acre regenerative estate in the Raymond Quadrangle of Madera County — where purpose and passion meet under the California sun.

Inspired by the Land

The land itself has been our greatest teacher. Its diverse soils — volcanic silt clay, decomposed granite, red clay, and loam — speak of balance and resilience. We listened, learned, and planted with intention.

Today, Dorval Estate nurtures a mosaic of vineyards and orchards:

• 3 acres of Petit Sirah

• 0.5 acres of Charbono

• 0.25 acres of Cabernet Franc

• 2.25 acres of Petit Verdot

• 0.4 acres of Merlot

• 0.4 acres of Malbec

• 6 acres of five Cabernet Sauvignon clones

• 0.5 acres of Tempranillo

• 0.5 acres of Teroldego

Surrounding the vineyards are olive orchards and a seasonal food garden — four acres of Arbequina, one of Koroneiki, two of Manzanillo, two of Frantoio olives, and a one-acre garden that provides fresh produce for our family and guests.

Every plant is grown organically and regeneratively, respecting the cycles of nature and restoring the soil that sustains us.

Inspired by Connection

Dorval Estate is more than a vineyard — it’s a living example of connection: between people, animals, and the land. Our sheep, cattle, and chickens graze freely, helping to naturally enrich the soil and remind us that every life here has purpose.

Just across from the estate lies Terra Dorada — our rugged 200-acre ranch at 1,200 feet elevation. There, rows of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc vines grow alongside olive orchards, extending our vision of regenerative, integrated farming.

The name Dorval honors Andrew’s mother’s hometown in Dorval, Montreal, Canada — where the family’s original farm, Domaine Le France, still thrives today as a winery and distillery. That legacy of craftsmanship, hard work, and creativity inspires everything we do here.

At Dorval Estate, we blend those deep family roots with the bold spirit of California — a celebration of old-world tradition meeting new-world purpose.
