Vineyard Assistant (*Job Disclosure*)
The Vineyard assistant is a part-time and sometimes full-time position with no guarantee of hours. will assist the head vineyard manager with daily tasks outside during all seasons. This position requires an independent and experienced individual with at least two years of commercial "wine" growing experience. The job is very physical and at times dangerous; particularly when operating physical farm equipment such as tractors, discs, trellis equipment and organic sprays. This is an at-will position. This position requires knowledge and discipline and great attention to detail.
Minimum Job Requirements:

High school diploma.

Some college to a degree in plant sciences viticulture.

Tractor driving experience - vineyard or orchard.

US citizen.

At least 18 years of age.

Available during Monday - Friday and sometimes weekends.

Demonstrate team work and independence via a background check and past employment verification.

Has a valid and verified California Drivers License.

Speaks and understands English.

Maintain irrigation and repair when and as needed promptly.

Observe, identify and treat disease with Vineyard Manager.

Operate tractor with loader or disc or other implements seasonally.

Spray organics on vines seasonally.

Apply manure or other organic supplements.
-
Seasonal pruning.
-
Seasonal thinning.
-
Seasonal suckering.
-
Harvest.
-
Cellar assistance.
-
Organize as needed.
-
Clean and maintain a sanitary environment at all times.

Cleaning and maintaining tractors and farm equipment properly.

Knowing and following proper safety procedures per OSHA standards.

Maintain a compost pile.

Mow lawn and clear debris in fields as needed.

Mulch wood.
